It looks like we have another mess going on. Everyone stay safe and be careful. You may not want to go out unless you feel you can defend yourself. Even non-violent creatures are prone to attacking.

[With that said, she'll go outside later, after spotting a certain creature outside of her window in CH7.]

[Today, during the hectic mess getting out of hand, you may notice around the village a very adorable cat-like creature, walking or even sprinting through the area. If it happens to spot you it'll draw closer. But, if it comes too close...well let's just say that even the most harmless of creatures can become dangerous in this sudden burst of Battledome simulations.

Have no fear though, because around the village there is someone hunting these adorable little things. And if she spots one, she'll be quick to blow it's head off using a faint purple blast of magic. Thankfully this particular brand of adorable creature is very easily to kill. Yet for every time she seems to kill one, a new one pops up in its place.

...Of course, at some point, the sheer number of them come after her. She may be slightly surrounded, but she can handle it. Right...okay no probably not.]

[ Madoka happens to spot one of the Kyuubeys and.. well, obviously it's enough to surprise her for a moment, and so as she chases after it for a bit in curiosity. Did Kyuubey really arrive here, and if so--

She doesn't have time to finish that chain of thought though, because when she has run for a little distance, she suddenly spots Homura off in the distance. But when she gets even a bit closer, she notices what's going on. The creature seems to have multiplied to this amount, and with Homura shooting at all them..

Her eyes grow wide. ]

H-- Homura-chan..!

[That voice-]

Madoka--

[However, Homura is cut off mid-sentence as two of the Kyuubey simulations jump at her, bearing sharp teeth to bite at her arm. She quickly reacts to the sudden ambush, managing to pull one off her by the ears and toss it away. The other one manages to bite her, as she attempts to pry it off as well.]

[ She knows she can't fight. She's not like Homura, or even Mami or Sayaka or Kyouko.. So part of her probably knows it's better for her to stay somewhere safe at the sidelines. But if one of her friends is attacked in front of her like this, can she really just sit back and watch..? No, of course she can't let herself do that.

She rushes forward to help Homura in any way - maybe she can help prying off the creatures as well, but when she's very close to Homura another Kyuubey clone jumps at her, and she only narrowly manages to avoid it by chance. She turns around to stare at it, actually looking a bit scared now. ]

A-are you okay, Homura-chan? [ Her voice shakes in fear. ]

[Homura manages to pry the other one off her, just as she sees one of them lunging for Madoka. She quickly extends her hand to fire a blast at it, but misses as it goes down from Madoka's evasion. Damn. And more of them will probably come.]

Madoka, lets go.

[She then takes one of Madoka's hands and begins pulling the girl away. The safety of her friend comes before getting rid of these things.]

[ She obediently follows. Of course she has little choice with Homura holding her hand like that, but.. she doesn't really mind running away from a situation like this together, even if she doesn't fully get it yet. ]

W-what was that.. That was Kyuubey, right? But why..

I'm not sure myself.

[Whatever was behind them was not Kyuubey, or anyone of his species. Homura doesn't know a lot about him, but he always gave an impression that he was incapable of physical violence. Whether it was not in his nature or that he just wasn't powerful, he never attacked physically or did much to assist the Witch battles.

She'll keep her grasp tight on Madoka, until they make it to the plaza area.]

Are you alright, Madoka? You weren't hurt?

[ the sound of a gunshot would keep madoka from making much of a reply. the bullet itself whizzes by a bit uncomfortably close to homura's face, though it plants itself in another of the strange kyuubey like creatures approaching from the side. ]

Careful now. [ the blonde haired puella magi flips down from above, landing near them as she discards the musket she just fired... which quickly dissolves away once it's separated from her. ]

Why is a very good question. Do either of you understand what's going on? [ though even as she asks the answer, she doesn't really expect either of them to be able to answer. she knows these things aren't the kyuubey they know, at least, despite the apparent similarity. she had to learn that the hard way when she approached the first one she saw thinking it to be a friend, only to earn herself a rather vicious bite on the arm.

though why kyuubey is an interesting thing to wonder about. ]

[ She's about to answer Homura that she's okay (because she honestly is okay, just a little surprised from the sudden appearances of all the quite ferocious Kyuubeys), but she nearly yelps at the gunshot sound. When she sees it's Mami though, she looks a bit relieved. ]

M-Mami-san.. [ She lets out a sigh, probably out of relief. ]

... I.. don't know at at all what's going on, but it's pretty bad, isn't it? I don't know if that was Kyuubey, b-but..

[......

Well then. That was a pretty effective way to scare Homura half-way to death. Nothing like a whizzing by bullet that she didn't expect to shake her up. Thankfully she manages to keep up her pokerface despite that, but her heart is racing just a little more than before now. Or maybe it was from the running? ...Probably both.

She turns her head to Mami, after being sure her head won't be blown up to some degree.]

My only guess...is that these are simulations of some kind. I don't have any other guess from that.

[After all, they disappear rather quickly once destroyed and don't leave any blood behind either. She doesn't go to the battle dome a lot, but she's been there enough times to know that the simulations are just like this.]

Simulations... [ a nod as she thinks about it. that made the most sense, even if it was still strange that simulations would take the form of something they knew. though for mami, the spectacle was simply irritating. she'd grown a bit hopeful at the sight of kyuubey, not recognizing his true nature like the others did. ]

They're in rather poor taste.

[ she removes her hat for a moment, pulling another rifle free of it, before flipping it around in her hand to get a better grip on it. ]

I don't know why they look like Kyuubey, but don't let that lower your guard, Kaname-san. [ she glances a bit cautiously at homura, not entirely trusting her... but for now she at least seems to be protecting madoka.

but more importantly she's also fairly sure the other girl has no compunctions with dispatching anything that might look like their mysterious alien benefactor. ]

Simulations? [ She repeats the word somewhat slowly, as if thinking about it. It would make sense how they just disappeared like that after they're hit, but still..

She's still unsure (and a little scared - even with Homura and Mami here who she knows are strong and good at fighting - she can't deny that), but she nods even if it's somewhat hesitantly. ]

I-I'll try my best.. It's still a little strange that they look like him though..

There have been creatures simulated other than him, from what I heard over these journals. It just so happens he is popping up too. [She looks away from Mami and to Madoka now.] We should find you some safety. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much guarantee that these simulations won't appear even in homes.

I agree with that. [ for once. ] Staying out in the open would be foolish. We should all find cover.

[ she glances at the ring on her finger, frowning slightly... the energy doesn't seem to deplete at all here, but old habits die hard. expending too much of it without getting anything in return to re-power it will always trouble her. ]

But is there any place that's safe...?

[ Well, at least Mami and Homura are talking to each other now and working together.. somewhat.. so Madoka is okay with this. n_n ]

H-hmm, it's probably better if we all so somewhere safe, but.. [ She pauses for a moment, her expression turning a bit unsure again. ] If it's like Homura-chan says and even the houses aren't safe, we probably can't even go there..

I'm...not quite sure. [Frankly there wasn't much of a safe place around. Thinking of one was difficult for her.] Do you have any ideas where you want to go and retreat?

[ mami hadn't really expected either of them to come up with much, so she just silently thinks for a moment. they could try to find others, but... no, they can't just depend on strangers. and even if there were others they knew that were willing to help them, she didn't want to get them involved in their own mess either. which only left... ]

In a situation like this, wouldn't it best to go somewhere that's hard to find?

[ Madoka frowns a little, as if she's trying to think about it as well, but she doesn't seem to come up with much. She listens though to what Mami says, looking a little surprised. ]

Somewhere that's hard to find..? [ unsure ] Were you thinking of a specific place, Mami-san?

[Homura blinks at the idea of a 'hard place to find'. She...quite honestly doesn't have any thoughts in mind when it comes to that. Maybe away from the village somewhere? Whatever it is, she waits for Mami to give a bit more detail.]

[ She hadn't really had a place in mind, but as both of them look to her expectantly it's obvious she needs to figure something out. It's tough being the oldest... ]

Hm... well, what do you think? Would it be safer to stay in the village, or go into the forest? Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

If the same amount of them would appear in the village as in the forest, the village might be easier to stay in, right..? It's less difficult to find our way around there.

[ She seems to think about it. ] But maybe there's less of them in the forest to start with..

The forest...

[She's a bit more hesistant with that idea. To be expected, seeing as the last time she went there she was greeted with some demonic girl killing animals.]

I heard there's a teleporter, on the south side of the village, that could take someone to the mountains. I'm still not sure how well we would be protected.

[She knows that girl won't come back, but she still can't help but feel nervous.]

The mountains? [ she'd never been there herself, so could hardly say whether they'd be safer or not... but she didn't want to continue standing around thinking about this as well. ]

That sounds like a good idea. Higher ground is advantageous, isn't it?

[ if nothing else, that sounded more secluded as well... ] If there are no objections, I think we should go.

If both of you say it would be better, I'll go there too..

[ She seems to think of something else at that too, though. ]

... Will everyone else be okay too though? [ Like Sayaka and Kyouko.. ]

...I'm not sure. But, we can't think of them right now. [Sayaka and Kyouko can take care of themselves. Madoka, on the other hand, can't fight efficiently and could be hurt.]

They'll be fine. I'm sure Sakura-san is... [ stuffing her face... ] ...happily enjoying a meal right now, and looking after Miki-san.

[ she flips one of her guns around, aiming it in the distance. ] We need to worry about ourselves for now. [ oh hey she's agreeing with homura weird... ]
